Recently moved to the area and noticed this fish and chips shop nearby. At first, I wasn’t sure if I should try it because there never seemed to be many people dining in. But one day I really craved a fish burger and decided to give it a go. I later realised most customers order takeaway, which is why it looks quiet inside. The fish burger was huge and only $15 — such great value, and the ingredients were super fresh. The potato cakes were perfectly crispy, and I really liked the texture of the batter. It’s also been a while since I had chicken salt, so that really hit the spot. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. If I didn’t care about being healthy, I’d probably come here all the time — but once a month doesn’t sound too bad!

Ordered for pickup at a busy time (6pm on Saturday) and the staff were as friendly and polite as always. Food was excellent and portions are very generous. Tried a burger for the first time and it was restaurant quality for $10 - so glad this is our local.

The chips and potato cakes are delicious from the slippery mackerel. Easy online ordering too. I always call in on the way home from the beach. The card payment fees are a bit excessive, but they take cash so I’d suggest paying cash.

Has to be one of Geelong’s best fish and chip shops and now our favourite takeaway shop. After discovering these guys, we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Generous portions, fresh-tasting food and friendly staff. Finally, a takeaway shop that gets it right! We’ll keep supporting you, because businesses like this deserve to stay in business. Also this is one of the items I ordered “the southern fried chicken burger” Wow definitely the best burger going around! So big and absolutely satisfying.

Ordered lunch today from this store and was blown away by the very generous portions we received! The fish & chips cooked here is exceptional... flake nice thick portions not full of batter like most other stores. The potato cakes freshly cooked and crunchy.. overall great food will be back!

I had a fantastic take-away experience at The Slippery Mackerel in Warralily, Armstrong Creek. Despite it being a super busy evening, our order was ready in a reasonable time, which was impressive. The meal itself was surprisingly good—well-drained chips, a delicious burger, and the potato cakes were a definite highlight. The fish was cooked perfectly, and the serving sizes were very reasonable, even bordering on generous compared to many other fish and chip shops. The staff who served us were friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. Based on this first visit, I would happily return.
